Elizabethan LOG Pouch

This one is nearly finished. All the embroidery is done, it just needs to be made up into a pouch. The pouch is the token for the Lochac Order of Grace. This award is given only once per reign, if given at all.

The ground is rayon velvet. The stitching is tent stitch on 28ct linen, over one, using Maderia silk thead. The slips were then cut out and applied to the velvet ground. They were then outlined in two rows of Iimitation Japanese Gold thread, couched down with YLI silk thread. It looks nicer in person. You don't get the texture in the photo.

The tent stitch slips took approx. 30 hours to complete. Attaching the slips took another 6 hours. Making up the work into a pouch took another 2 hours. Although the embroidery was completed in 2003, the full item wasn't finished until 2004 so that is why it is in that section.

The completed item was handed over to the WCOB at Festival, 2004.
