I started this one at 7pm and it was finished by 10pm, you gotta love laid and couched work!! Red wool twill base, two strands of Appletons crewel wool in black, off white and two shades of yello (dark for the base and a lighter one for the couching threads). I am unhappy about the very wonky stars. I think this one is going to have to be the back. Since this one is so quick to work up, I am going to do the back as well.
It will be sewn up into a simple square pouch, no tassels etc. It is a LOG pouch. The design is about 5" square.

I did the other side of the pouch on the weekend. Only 6 hours to do a double sided pouch, gotta love it.

I've had a bit of a rest from these ones. I lined the pouch with some plain, ubleached heavy weight linen. The eyelets are done using a single thread of Appletons crewel wool. They go fast when you use wool. So total of about 11 hours for the whole pouch. I made the drawstrings and strap using pearle cotton and I finger braided it (looks better than the bought braid).
