Lochac Device

This device is being made as part of the WCOB Banner Project. I can't work on my device cause it isn't registered yet. So I am working on this Lochac device and also on a Masters Device as well.

The device came as part of a kit. The device was already drawn on the silk and mounted on the backing fabric. I also received printed instructions. I just have to supply the thread (Maderia silk).

This is much bigger than real life. This shield is only about 4cm in size. I am working it with a single strand of Maderia silk using an very fine needle. I have to use a magnifying light to work this. The above picture shows about 2 hrs work.

At about 9 hours. This is working up slowly but surely. My eyes aren't hurting as much now.

Lochac Device - 14 hours

The sewing seems to be going faster this time. Only took an hour to do the blue corner. So I should only need three more hours to finish it off. This is the progress at 14 hours.

5th August, 2004

The device is finished. A couple more hours last night and I was able to finish the device. Image is below. Took a total of 18 hours to complete.

The finished peice is approx 2 inches wide.
